Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) on Thursday recovered 214 pieces of import restricted fairness injections worth Tk 5,00,000 from Postal sorting centre of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the city.
Based on information, CIID team lead a drive and recovered those injections through scanning which was imported as
pharmaceuticals goods in the name of a person identified as Khondoker Faruque Ahmed, resident of 265/3, Central Pirerbagh, Mirpur, Dhaka.
Those products were exported from Malaysia, from an exporter identified as Tam Peng Seng.
Such products are import restricted and require ‘no objection’ clearance from Drug Administration according to Customs law, but in this case there was no such clearance.
Moreover, use of such injection is injurious to human health.
The products have been seized and case has been filed according to the Customs law.
