Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) yesterday recovered 20 thousand cartons of date-expired Tang from city’s Shershah area under Baizid thana on Sunday .
A team of Baizid police on secret information conducted a drive in a godown of Sajib Corporation and recovered nearly 20 thousand bottles of date-expired Tang powder, said Pradip Kumar Das, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Baizid Baizid station. Three persons allegedly involved with the changing of levels of these date expired Tang bottles were arrested red handed from the spot.
“Employees of Sajib Corporation collect the date-expired packets and bottles of Tang powder from different areas and resell those in the markets after pasting new labels of expiry date”, the OC said adding that police were trying to nab the responsible persons behind it.
