Coast Guard in the outer berth of Chittagong Port recovered huge quantities of foreign wine worth about Tk.8 lakh from a engine boat on Friday .
Acting on secret tip-off, coast guard forces conducted raid in the outer berth and detained a engine boat lying abandoned there .
After searching the boat, law enforcers recovered 1800 bottes of foreign contraband wine from the boat. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the smugglers on board and the sailors quickly escaped from the spot , sources said. The detained wine deposited to the custody of Chittagong customs.
