Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) on Saturday recovered import-restricted 260 cartons of cigarettes from a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport (SAIA) in Chittagong.
The ESEE Lights and Dunhill brands of cigarettes were about 52,000 pieces worth Tk 20 lakh.
Getting information, CIID launched a drive and recovered those cigarettes after checking baggage of the passenger who was identified as Md Robiul Hossain, coming from Sherjah, United Arab Emirates.
Legal action has been taken according to Customs law.
