The Board of Directors of Bank Asia have recently appointed Md Nazrul Huda and M Shahjahan Bhuiyan as Independent Directors of the bank.
Md Nazrul Huda was the former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank. He served the Bangladesh Bank successfully for 35 years in different capacities. Huda obtained Masters in Economics from the University of Dhaka and University of New England, Australia. He has a number of publications on important issues relating to economy and banking.
M Shahjahan Bhuiyan is the former Managing Director of Prime Bank Ltd and United Commercial Bank Ltd.
Shahjahan Bhuiyan joined Bank Officials Training Scheme under the erstwhile State Bank of Pakistan in 1970. He was honored as ‘Kriti Banker’ in 2012 for his outstanding contribution to the banking sector of the country.
