Huawei, one of the leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, has contributed digital equipment and other devices necessary to develop a smart classroom for unprivileged children.
The contribution was made through Obhizatrik Foundation on Monday with a view to ensuring a better-connected world for all, said a press release.
To pull off this programme, Huawei has collaborated with Obhizatrik Foundation, an organisation working towards overcoming socio-economic challenges. This collaboration has come from a common yearning to create a better-digitized world for unprivileged children. Under this collaboration, Huawei has donated various items such as Huawei TABs, Huawei laptop, Huawei Router, Internet subscription for one year, students’ dress, bags, stationaries, masks, and oxygen cylinders to Obhizatrik School.
The items were handed over to Ahmed Imtiaz Jami, the Founder and President of Obhizatrik Foundation, at the ceremony held at Obhizatrik School. Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury was present virtually at the event as the chief guest with Zhang Zhengjun, CEO, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd, and high officials of Huawei and Obhizatrik Foundation in attendance.
Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury at the event said, “Unprivileged students in our society are among the most in need, and the Bangladesh government is very concerned about their future growth and education. I am glad to see a global ICT company like Huawei reaching out to help. I would like to thank Huawei that you are doing your bit to develop ICT in Bangladeshand actively engaged in corporate social responsibility.”
Zhang Zhengjun, CEO, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd, said on the occasion, “Our recent initiative, “In Bangladesh, For Bangladesh – We are Here,” has been mapped out to reach those deprived kids as we do believe, even it’s a small initiative, but the continued effort will make a difference and several small streams will converge into a vast ocean finally.”
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. is a Chinese multinational technology company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. It designs, develops, and sells telecommunications equipment and consumer electronics. The company was founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei, a former Deputy Regimental Chief in the People’s Liberation Army.
