Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd on Sunday held “Huawei Carrier Congress 2021” to establish a dialogue on technology trends and business solutions, as well as to bridge collaboration and understanding among all industry players – all necessary to realize a Digital Bangladesh.
The event will also focus on issues related to intelligent networks, digital operations and maintenance, their 5GtoB app engine, and the integration of technology for a smarter tomorrow, said a press release.
Huawei, the global provider of ICT infrastructure, will share their latest innovations from R&D to harness the socio-economic benefits of potential ICT inclusions in different industries.
Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar, who attended as chief guest, said: “We are very sincere in making the dream of Digital Bangladesh a reality. We have established the telecom industry as a significant sector of the country. And now we are relishing the outcomes.”
He thanked Huawei as a key force in Bangladesh’s digital transformation, and attributed this congress as one that would incite further exploration and inspiration for a future intelligent world.
Edward Zhou, vice president, global public affairs of Huawei, mentioned how Huawei hoped to help industries expand by transcending boundaries and exploring new horizons through digital innovation.
Among others, BTRC Chairman Shyam Sunder Sikder, Zhang Zhengjun, chief executive officer, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited; Xu Dongjian, CTO, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited and Tao Guangyao, COO, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited, were also present.
Telecom operators, partners, regulators, think-tanks, and academia from Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal are expected to join the event in the upcoming days virtually and/or physically maintaining precautions for Covid-19.
Guests will deliver speeches and presentations on different topics to build a smarter, faster, and more inclusive tomorrow.
Scott W Minehane, managing director of Windsore Place Consulting and Amit Reaz from Asia Pacific Office of ITU, also joined the event with their presentation on ‘National Broadband Reference Sharing’ and ‘Digital Transformation: Expectation and Considerations for IMT2020 roll out’ respectively.
Konesh Kochhal, director, industry ecosystem engagements, Huawei Asia Pacific region, talked about Digital Bangladesh opportunities.
