The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and the equivalent examinations of 2014 begin across the country today (Thursday).A total of 11,41,374 candidates under 10 educational boards, including one madrasah and one technical board, will appear this year from 8,104 institutions. The number of centers is 2,352.Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid briefed the media about the examinations at the Secretariat on Wednesday.This year the number of total examinees is 1,28,793 compared with 10,12,581 last year. The overseas students are 202.This year examinations on 25 subjects will be held under creative method. The written examination will conclude on June 5 while the practical examinations will begin from June 7 and will end on June 16.In the briefing Nahid, said, all preparations for holding the examinations have been completed and expressed hope that the examinations will be held in a peaceful and copying-free environment.
