Staff Reporter :
The results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination will be published today.
The results will be announced from International Mother Language Institute in the capital at 10:30am.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will join the programme virtually from her official residence Gonobhaban.
MA Khayer, pubic relations officer of the Education Ministry, informed media on Friday through mobile SMS
The HSC and equivalent exams of 2020 were scheduled to begin on April 1. But the exams were cancelled due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country.
Later, Education Minister Dipu Moni, in a virtual press conference on October 7 last year, informed that the HSC results would be prepared on the basis of the results of the JSC or JDC and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams and then to be published.
However, the authorities were barred from publishing the results without actually holding the HSC and equivalent examinations under the previous legal framework, said bdnews24.com.
Parliament later passed three amendment bills, allowing the government to publish the outcome of exams without actually holding the tests.
More than 1.3 million students are awaiting the results, which will be determined using a stop-gap system of averaging the scores of the JSC and SSC assessments.
