Sanjida Binte Siddique Tonmoy, popularly known as Sanjida Tonmoy to all, was one of the top 7 contestants in Veet-Channel i Top Model contest in 2011. Then she attached herself with acting in many dramas and cinema and
got appreciation from the viewers. In 2019, Sanjida, hailed from Faridpur, went to Jordan. This correspondent contacted with her yesterday. Now she remains well in Jordan along with her husband and children.
After becoming Veet star, Sanjida Tonmoy first acted in drama Mon Foring er Golpo. Directed by Shihab Shahin, she got the scope to share the screen with Tahsan and Nusrat Imrose Tisha in the drama. Later, she acted in many dramas. She last acted in an Eid drama titled Dadar Girlfriend in 2018. Then she went to Jordan. She got the opportunity to act only movie titled Bapjaner Bioscope, which received eight awards in different categories in the National Film Awards 2015. In this movie, Tonmoy acted opposite Shahiduzzaman Selim. Reazul Rezu made the movie, while Masum Reza wrote its story.
Though she acted only movie but it made a great achievement in her acting career, according to Sanjida Tonmoy. While contacting with her in Jordan, Sanjida Tonmoy told this correspondent, “I miss my country and its people specially my fans. I also miss my hometown Faridpur because my parents and others are staying there. I also miss my country’s media. I also miss my acting’s days in Bangladesh. Yes, I watch Bangladesh’s dramas specially Afran Nisho and Sabila Nur starrer dramas. As my acted only movie Bapjaner Bioscope, which duration is two hours, is now available on YouTube, so I still get response from the viewers for acting in this movie. I really enjoy it. I have been passing happy days with my husband and only daughter in Jordan. Everybody prays for me. If I comeback to country, I want to do acting surely if I get good story and character.”
