Their marriage is considered one of Bollywood’s most successful unions but not many people know how it all started. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have battled several rumours over the years when it comes to their relationship but they’ve always shut down naysayers. Have been together for over a decade, the couple have often spoken about their love and admiration for each other.
While it is known that Abhishek popped the question on a cold New York balcony back in 2007, the ring which he used was no dazzling solitaire but a simple prop that was used in their film ‘Guru’. In fact, it was the same ring with which his character proposed marriage to her in the film, which was helmed by Mani Ratnam. It is said that Abhishek was so enamoured with Aishwarya that he popped the question instinctively and decided to use the ring from the film to proclaim his love. Aishwarya, of course, said yes, and the couple hasn’t looked back ever since, and are parents to six-year-old daughter Aaradhya.
