A housewife has been strangled to death after torture on Sunday allegedly by her husband over family feud in Hizla upazila of Barishal.
This murder happened on early Sunday at Baherchar village under Bara Jalia Union of Hizla Upazila.
Police already arrested husband Shamim Sardar son of Nure Alam Sardar of the same village, and during interrogation he confessed the crime, SM Maksudur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of the Hizla police station, said.
The killed housewife was identified as Salma Begum, 30, daughter of Nehal Howladar from same village, confirmed officer in charge of Hizla Police Station.
`Salma has beaten and strangled by her husband and sent by relatives to Hizla Upazila health complex in a critical condition early Sunday, but the attending physician on duty declared her as dead.
“We are suspecting that she has been killed due to altercation over extra marital affairs of her husband on early Sunday.
The dead body sent to Barishal SBMCH morgue for autopsy the details, said officer in charge of Hizla Police Station.
Preparation for filing of a case in this connection was underway, he added.
