UNB, Chandpur :
A newly married woman was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband at Bagrabazar in the upazila headquarters early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Swapna Akther,18, hailed from Paschim Daishara village of Faridganj upazila.
Family sources said Swapna’ s husband Badal Patwari, of Ranger Gaon village of Faridganj upazila, used to torture his wife for dowry since their marriage six months ago which compelled her to return to her father’s house.
On Thursday, Badal took her out of her father’s house in the name of visiting the district town.
