A young housewife was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband in Panchghariakandi area of the district town early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Mariam Akter Nishi,18, wife of Al Amin of the area.
Police said Al Amin, son of Barek Bepari, had married Nishi, daughter of Akter Hossain of Ganakpara village in the town, three years back.
Amin beat Nishi following an altercation over family feud on Wednesday night.
At one stage, he strangulated Nishi to death in the dead of night.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy on Thursday morning.
Police also arrested Fatema Begum, mother-in-law of Nishi, while Amin managed to flee the scene.
