A housewife Rokeya Begum (26) was killed by her husband on last Saturday evening.
Rokeya Begum was a wife of Shafikul Islam (34) of the village Raninagar under Gurudaspur thana. Police and villagers said, firstly, hot talk was exchanged between them on unknown matter.
Then, Shafikul Islam became very angry and brought a big knife from his bed room. Seeing it, Rokeya Begum tried to escape from the house and started run through a road but failed. In this time, her husband Shafikul Islam caught her and began to hit with his knife. As a result, Rokeya Begum was died on spot. For saving her, a few men rushed to the spot. Of them, Shahidul Islam (22), Omar Faruk (30) and Rokeya Begum (55) were seriuosly injured with hitting of knife. Killing her wife, Shafikul Islam entered into a local mosque with his knife and closed the door. Police and hundreds of people made a ghera around the mosque. Then, on Sunday, police arrested him breaking the door and sent the dead body to Natore hospital morgue for autopsy.
