One housewife was killed allegedly for dowry at Charia village under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Taslima Begum (25), wife of Anwar Hossain of Charia village under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong.
Sources said, the family members of Anwar Hossain admitted the victim at Chittagong Medical College Hospital following drinking poison.
Later, Taslima died at the hospital at around 3 am.
Brother of the victim alleged that Anwar Hossain and his mother compelled his sister Taslima to drink poison demanding dowry.
However, police arrested the husband Anwar Hossain and his mother. The body of the victim was sent to morgue for autopsy.
