A housewife was allegedly killed by her in-laws at Bhatiria under Jessore sadar upazila on Friday night.
The dead was identified as Sathi Akhter, 20, wife of Abdur Rahim of Bhaturia village and daughter of Kalim Hossain of Jhanpa village under Monirampur upazila in Jessore.
Family members of the victim alleged that Sathi Akhter was beaten to death by her in-laws at his husband’s residence for dowry on Friday night the body was hanged with the ceiling after killing. ‘She was killed for a good amount of money and a motorbike,’ the family members added.
HM Shahidul Islam, sub inspector, Kotwali police station told that post mortem examination of the body was made at Jessore General Hospital. ‘The body bore marks of tortures,’ he added.
He also said the fact will be known after having the report post mortem examination.
