A housewife was killed for extramarital relationship by her husband at Rajapur village in Bagharpara upazila of Jashore district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Habiba Khatun (23) daughter of Zakir Hossain in Raipur village of the Bagharpara upazila.
The victim’s family alleged that Habiba’s Jony Hossain left the body at the Jashore general hospital and ran away.
Later, the police recovered the body from the Jashore General Hospital and handed it over to the family of the deceased after the post-mortem.
The family of deceased alleged that the husband and his family members are absconding since the incident.
The deceased’s father, Zakir Hossain, said, In the month of February 2020, Habiba got married to Malaysia expatriate Jony Hossain, son of Surat Ali at Rajapur village in Jahurpur union of the same upazila.
After two months of marriage, quarrels started in their family.
Jony Hossain moved to Malaysia after two months of marriage. On August 27, he returned home without informing anyone.
Just four days after her arrival, Habiba was tortured by her husband Johnny and his family members.
He also said, My daughter was killed because of Johnny’s extramarital relationship .
Johnny used to send all his money from abroad to that housewife.
He used to spend regular time with his lover when he came to the country. About which there was a dispute with Habiba and Jony. Habiba has a baby daughter.
After the incident, a case has been registered with Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station.
Bagharpara Police Station OC Feroz Uddin said, The news came to them that the family members including the husband killed Habiba and left the body in Jashore General Hospital and ran away.
After getting the autopsy report, it will be understood whether it is murder or suicide.
