A housewife was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband over family feud at Moulvipara in the port city on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sohana Akter, 24, a garment worker and wife of Rajib, a resident of Moulvipara area under Double Mooring Police Station in the city.
Bashir Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Double Mooring Police Station, said Sohana and her husband Rajib used to live with her parents.
On Wednesday night, Rajib engaged in an altercation with Sohana over family feud and strangled her to death over the issue in some time in the night.
As no response was found from Sohana’s room till Thursday morning, Sohana’s mother went to her room and found her dead around 8 am.
On information, police rushed in and sent the body to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue. Police could not arrest Rajib as he managed to flee the scene.
