Housewife killed by BSF in opposite to Phulbari border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead an Indian house wife in no man’s land of Phulbari border in Kurigram district at about 2 am on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Shahara Begum Umiron 45 wife of late Abed Ali of village Keshamot Korla of Dinhata thana in Coochbihar district of West Bengal province.
Locals said BSF men chased Indian and Bangladeshi cattle smugglers at Keshamat Korla village in India near international pillar no-934/11s. At that time the smugglers took shelter in the bordering houses.
 The BSF men of 124 Notkobari camp on patrol fired on them at 2am on Saturday. One Indian house wife received bullet on her throat and died on the spot. Balarhat BOP Havilder Bulbul Ahmed of Kurigram 45 BGB Battalion admitted the incident and told that the security has been tightened as the Bangladeshis could not be entered into India crossing the border Director of Kurigram 45 BGB Battalion Lt. Col. Mozaffar Hossain Akhand said that the incident took place into India and the dead woman is also Indian.
