A housewife was raped and killed by miscreants in Kuchalia village under Manirampur upazila of Jashore district on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Devi Tikedar, 32 wife of Piyush Tikedar, a day laborer of Kuchalia village of the upazila.
Police recovered the body from the bank of the Mukunda Sardar’s fish enclosure of Kuchalia village in the upazila on Monday Morning. She has stabbed to his chest, chin and knees.
Locals said she was killed after being raped. The couple has a 12-year-old son.
Devi Tikedar has been missing since Sunday evening. The locals found her dead body from bank of the Mukunda Sardar’s fish enclosure on Monday and informed the police station.
Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.
Manirampur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sikdar Matiar Rahman said, ‘Who killed the housewife and left her body. We recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy. She was raped by miscreants.
However, more can be confirmed after the autopsy. Police are investigating the incident. No one was arrested in the incident OC added.
