UNB, Sylhet :A young housewife was hacked to death by miscreants at Daulatpur village in Bishwanath upazila in the district on Sunday evening.The deceased was identified as Sujina Begum, 19, wife of UK expatriate Murad Ahmed, hailing from Satal village in the upazila.Locals said four criminals entered the house of victim’s father Abdur Rauf on Sunday evening with sweetmeat identifying them as Murad’s friends.However, they chopped Sujina and her mother Rezia Begum, 45, indiscriminately with sharp weapons around 7pm, leaving them critically injured. The injured were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where Sujina succumbed to her injuries around 9pm.Officer-in charge of Bishwanath Police Station Rafiqul Islam said they were investigating the incident.Family sources said Sujina was married off to UK expatriate Murad, who has another wife in the UK, five months ago and she used to live at her father’s house.Sujina’s family had altercation with that of Murad’s first wife over the issue several times.
