Kanan Rani Majumdar (30), wife of one Ashis Majumdar, a farmer of village Khalisakhali under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district gave birth to a female child 9 years ago.
After long 9 years, she conceived for the second time six months ago. So, her husband and other members of the family became very happy and they expected, she will give birth to a male child this time. According to their expectations, she gave birth to not only one male baby but also she gave birth to as many as 4 male babies one after another in the Upazila Health Complex on Sunday night but it is the irony of fate that all their hopes, desires and aspirations were nipped in the bud when all the male babies died one after another in the following Monday morning after long 12 hours of their birth. The mother is physically well.
But she is shedding tears silently as she failed to hear the very sweet call ‘mother’ from her male babies. Being informed of the matter a number of people rushed to the Health Complex in the following morning to see the 4 newly born babies. But when they found the babies are dead they could not but shedding tears.
It is reported that on Sunday morning the housewife felt severe labour-pain and she was immediately admitted to Chitalmari Upazila Health Complex where she gave birth to 4 immature male babies at the night and in the following morning all the babies died one after another.
