Police recovered the body of a housewife from her in-laws’ house at Shahpur village in Charghat upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Sumi Khatun, 24, wife of Mithun, a resident of Shahpur village.
Family sources said Sumi, daughter of Asad of Horian village in Paba upazila, was married to Mithun, son of Majid, one and half months back.
Few days after their marriage, Sumi came to her father’s house following an altercation with her husband.
Later, she returned to her in-laws’ house.
She was found dead on Saturday afternoon suddenly, officer-in-charge of Matihar Police Station Humayan Kabir said quoting family sources.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The law enforcers also arrested Sumi’s father-in-law Majid in connection with the incident, the OC added.
