Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife at Goaljhar Pakhilagaon in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Pabitra Rani, 22, wife of Krishna Chandra Roy of the village.
Quoting family members, police said the inmates of the house went to a temple on the occasion of Durga Puja while Pabitra remained at home alone on Thursday.
When they returned home they found Pabitra hanging from a tree near their house and informed the matter to police. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Panchagarh Modern Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Deen Mohammad, sub-inspector of Panchagarh Police Station.
