UNB, Dhaka :
Police recovered the body of a housewife from the city’s Mirpur area on Friday. The victim was identified as Mitu Akhter, 25, wife of Sabuj Miah. She was residing at a rented house of Parish Road in Mirpur-11.
Being informed, a team of Pallabi Police Station recovered the body of Mitu from inside a plastic sack lying in
front of her house at around 7:30 am.
Sabuj remained absconding since the body was recovered, police said. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Sources at the DMCH said there were spots on the victim’s neck.
Victim’s family members alleged that Sabuj had long been demanding dowry from Mitu’s family. He killed her following the failure to pay him the dowry, they said.
