A housewife was found dead at her in-law’s house at Alipur village in Bijoynagar upazila on Wednesday night.
Informed by locals, police recovered the hanging body of Nila Begum, 22, wife of Shawkat Mia from the house around 8 pm and sent it to local hospital morgue, said Arshad Ali, officer-in-charge of Bijoynagar Police Station.
However, police could not arrest anyone as inmates of the house, including the victim’s husband, went into hiding after the incident.
Police suspect that Nila might have been killed by her husband.
