A woman was killed falling from a battery run three wheeler Auto-Rickshaw at Baravita union under Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district at 3pm on Monday. The deceased was identified as Shanti Rani, 34, wife of Krishna Chandra from village Choukidartary under Baravita union of the upazila. The deceased family and locals said that Shanti Rani along with her relatives started for Ulipur upazila by the Auto-Rickshaw. When the driver took a turn at Khejurer Tol crossing, she fell down from the Auto and was injured seriously. She was immediately taken to Phulbari upazila health complex in a critical condition where the attending doctor Saiful Islam declared her death.
Chairman of Baravita union Khaibar Ali told that Shanti Rani fell down from the Auto-Rickshaw herself. Her body was handed over to her relatives. Officer-in-Charge of Phulbari Police Station Rajib Kumar Roy admitted the incident.
