A housewife was crushed under the wheels of a train on Nilphamari-Saidpur rail line in Haroa Chetasha Ghunti area in the district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Morsheda Begum, 28. She used to live near the rail track.
Witnesses said the woman was run over by the Chilahati-bound train from Rajshahi at noon when she hurriedly tried to remove some clothes from a clothesline over the rail track. The accident left her dead on the spot.
