A house wife was chopped by a miscreant when he failed to violate her at Ghoramara village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Thursday evening.
She was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital and then referred to Faridpur medical college hospital in a critical state. The injured was identified as Sathi Khatun, 19, wife of Abu Bakar of the village.
Locals and police said, a miscreant Bidyut, son of Abdul Bari of Kalamankhali village in same upazila tried to violate the house wife in the evening of Thursday. As she was alone, Bidyut tried ti violate her. When she started shouting, Bidyut started stabbing her. Locals rushed the spot and rescued her.
Sathi was rushed to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital in the night and then referred to Faridpur medical college hospital in a critical state.
Sathi’s husband Abu Bakar said, the rapist was the elder brother in law of Sathi who has been living in same house for passt few years. He had been disturbibg Sathi for a long time.
Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer in charge Hasan Hafizur Rahman said, the rape attemp incident might not be true, but the house wife sustained severe stab injuries on her parts. Legal steps will be taken when any case was filed, OC said.
