A young housewife was burnt to death setting herself on fire in Sadar Upazila of the district in the early morning on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sathi, 18, hailed from the Upazila.
Local said Sathi got married with Gobind Chad of Nabo Palli vallage six months ago. She was not happy in her conjugal life. She set fire herself pouring ceresin last night.
She was sent to Gopalganj General Hospital in critical condition, but she succumbed to her injuries today.
Officer-in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Thana Md Selim Reza confirmed the incident.
