Hasina Begum (32), wife of one Habibur Rhaman of Gona Belai area within Rajnagar Union under Rampal Upazila in the district was brutally murdered by some miscreants after she was gang raped on Tuesday night taking the opportunity in the absence of her husband and daughter.
Police of Rampal PS visited the place of occurrence, recovered the dead body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy on Wednesday.
It is learnt from her husband that he had been residing in a dwelling house erected in a fish farm belonging to his brother-in-law Jahangir of the area with his wife Hasina Begum and only daughter Sumiya Khatun for long 7/8 years. On Monday in the morning Habaibur Rahman left his house for the village Amtala under Batiaghata Upazila in Khuilna district to see his old mother. On the same day his daughter Sumaiya (10) also left the house for Foilahat Sufia Begum Mahila Dakhil Mdrasa (under the same Upazila) where she is reading in Class-IV as a residential student.
