A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at Bagachra village in Sharsha upazila of Jashore district over dowry recently.
Ripon Hossain, 38, son of Moslem Gazi of Satmile village of the upazila, used to torture his wife Zahura Khatun, 34, over dowry, alleged the victim’s father.
He locked into an altercation with Zahura over the issue and beat her indiscriminately at night, leaving her dead on the spot, the victim’s father further alleged.
Later, he hanged the body with the ceiling of his house to make it appear that she committed suicide.
