One housemaid commits suicide by setting fire herself in city for alleged sexual harassment by her houselord.
As protest to the sexual violence housemaid commits suicide , sources said . The housemaid identified as Runa Akhter(14) . She was the housemaid of one cycle parts trader Amin Ahmed who resides in TM Tower of Ice Factory road under Sadarghat thana.
Police sources said she was admitted in burn unit of Chittagong medical college hospital recently with critically injured with fire and lastly expired on Tuesday after four days fight with life.
Police sources said Runa was working in the residence of Amin Ahmed for the last 6 months with monthly salary of Tk.1500. Inspector of Sadarghat thana Sandip Kumar Das told this reporter that a case in connection was filed before the police station.
