Hotel bookings by foreigners declines

The hotel bookings in the star hotels of the port city are being cancelled by the foreigners recently, a reliable sources said.
 Following the impact of killings of two foreigners in Dhaka and Rangpur, these hotel bookings are cancelled, conscious circles observed.
But police sources said Chittagong is a safe abode for foreigners and every security steps will be provided to foreigners if so required . Out of the 3 international standard star hotels, bookings in Hotel Agrabad and Hotel Peninsula were cancelled recently but the bookings in Hotel Radison Blue is still unchanged.
Senior Manager of Hotel Agrabad told this correspondent that a group of Japanese tourists booked 14 rooms for September 29 last but they did not turned in hotel following the killings of Japanese in Rangpur.
A Japanese group booked 30 room for one month in October but cancelled their reservation. Manager (Admn) of Hotel Peninsula told that the flow of foreigners in their hotel declined to maximum extents recently and most of the Japanese bookings cancelled in the meantime.
From very opening of the Peninsula, most of the boarders were foreigners but recently this flow is declined and some room bookings by Japanese already cancelled in the meantime.
Asstt Manager (PR) of Hotel Radison Blue said the room reservations by the foreigners yet to be affected.
He said no untoward incidents occurred in Chittagong as yet and the CMP authority as well as our security is fully aware about the movement of the foreingers inside the hotel.
