A fourth class employee at Jessore General Hospital and also an accused in a murder case was shot at by miscreants at Phulsara village under Chaugachha upazila in Jessore at around 8:30 pm on Thursday.. The victim was undergoing treatment at Jessore General Hospital.
The victim, Khairul Islam,46 of Phulsara village and also a fourth class employee at Jessore General Hospital, is an accused in Aashraf Hossain murder case of the locality, said Mir Hossain, uncle of the victim.
He alleged that Ismail Hossain and Iltutmish, sons of murdered Ashraf Hossain led the attack near a graveyard at the village. ‘Khairul Islam has been enjoying bail issued by the court,’ he added.
Abdullah- Al- Mamun, medical officer, Jessore General Hospital told journalist that there was bullet inside the patient’s abdomen.
Shamim Uddin, officer in-charge, Chaugachha police station told that the police visited the spot but none was arrested in this connection. No case was filed.
