Relatives of a male patient vandalised a local hospital on Saturday night following his death allegedly for wrong treatment in the district headquarters.
Laxmipur Police Superintendent A S M Mahatab Uddin said Mohammad Sekantor, a staff of Laxmipur District office and a resident of Abir Nagar village, was taken to Laxmipur Modern Hospital with chest pain around 7 pm.
As the patient’s condition deteriorated, the on-duty doctor pushed an injection around 9 pm. Later, he died, alleged the relatives of the patient.
Being angered over the incident, his relatives vandalised the hospital.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile, police detained three hospital staff including on-duty physician Dr Md Jewel and OT boy Oziullah.
Police also recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
