Hospital patient among 3 raped in last 36 hrs: 2 held

At least three females, including a hospitalized girl, have been raped in the capital and two other districts in the last 36 hours since Tuesday.
The members of the law enforcing agencies have arrested two persons in this connection, police sources said. In the capital, a team of Pallabi Police Station rescued a 18-year-old girl from in front of a house at Block-B of Mirpur Section-12 around 10:30 am on Wednesday.
She was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for medical test, said Dadan Fakir, Officer-in-Charge of Pallabi Police Station. “The girl is mentally unbalanced as she cannot even remember her name,” the police official said.
The girl might have been raped around 11:45pm on Tuesday e which needs medical test for confirmation, the OC said.
In Bandarban, a female patient of Lama Health Complex was gang-raped by a medical staff and his two evil partners in the hospital on Tuesday.
Police also arrested Nur Mohammad on charge of rape in the hospital, said Sirajul Islam, OC of Lama Police Station.
 “The victim, a Tipra community member, was admitted to the hospital for some ailment. As she went out of the ward to buy medicine, hospital employee Nur Mohammad and his fellows Selim and Shah Alam raped her on the hospital complex, the police official said. The victim had been taken to Bandarban General Hospital for medical test. We are trying to arrest the others, he added.
In Jessore, a 13-year-old female labour of a cotton mills was raped in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
Police also arrested an accused on charge of rape in this connection. The rapist identified as Al-Amin, 19, son of Abdul Majid, residence of Basundia village, said Tariqul Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kotwali Police Station.
“The victim went her work place in Padmabila Northsouth Cotton Mill at night on Monday night. Her boy friend raped her in the mills around 3:00am,” the police official said. He said that he victim was taken to Jessore General Hospital for medical test. The victim’s mother filed a case in this connection, he said.
