A newly -constructed eight storied building of Chapainawabganj Sadar Modern Hospital was inaugurated yesterday. Law maker of Chapainawabganj sadar constituency Md Abdul Wadud inaugurated it as Chief Guest. A function was arranged on the occasion on the hospital premises. Presided over by the civil surgeon of Chapainawabganj Dr SFM Khairul Ataturk, the function was addressed among others, by the superintending engineer of the Public Works Circle, Rajshahi Md Zillur Rahman, DC of Chapainawabganj AZM Nurul Hoque and superintendent of police of Chapainawabganj TM Mojahidul Islam as special guests. Public Works Department (PWD) constructed the building at a cost of Tk. 36,50,00,000 under Health Population and Nutrition Sector Development Programme (HPNSDP) of the Ministry of the Health and Family Welfare. According to the concerned sources, as per the commitment of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the new building was constructed for upgrading the 100 bedded hospital to 250 bedded hospital with a view to ensuring the health services to the people of the district. The construction work started in June, 2015, the sources added.The sources further added that besides the beds for the patients, there will be 15 cabin blocks, five operation theatres (OT), ICU, CCU, SDU, City Scan, out door, self-arranged electricity and water, three steers and two bed lifts and other modern facilities in the hospital.
