Weekend Plus Desk :
The city’s winter is still going strong and the cool weather hints at inevitable dry skin if not properly cared for. Here are a few fruit face packs you can make at home this winter to keep your skin healthy, glowing and moisturised.
ORANGE PEEL
Dry out orange peel and grind the peel in a mixie until you get fine powder. Grind a teaspoon of oatmeal with it. Mix in a few drops of honey and a few spoons of yogurt until a smooth mixture is formed. Apply it on your face. Leave it on until the mixture dries, then wash off with cold water.
APPLE
Finely grate a quarter of an apple, with its skin removed. Add a few drops of honey until you get a paste-like consistency. Apply the paste onto your face and keep the pack on for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

BANANA
Pick two really ripe bananas and mash them well. Mix a few drops of honey and a spoon of yogurt to it. Apply it to your face and neck, but not around your eyes. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then gently wash off the mixture with water. If you wish to exfoliate your skin, add a spoon of oats to the pack.
PAPAYA
Mash 10 normal-sized pieces of papaya and add a few drops of honey and a few drops of lemon. Once you have gotten a thick consistency apply it on your face, leave it on for a few minutes and rinse with cold water.
TOMATO
Take out the seeds from ripe tomatoes and mash the rest. Mix a teaspoon of turmeric powder and make a paste. You can also add a few drops of yogurt. Apply the mixture onto your face and once the pack is dry, wash it off with water.
