The number of home-quarantine expatriates who returned from foreign countries, including China, Italy, South Korea and Singapore, is increasing frequently as the concerned authorities, law enforcers and intelligence agencies, have accelerated their surveillance on them apart from pre-check measure of coronavirus spreading.
Around one thousand expatriates have already been kept at home-quarantine for about 14 days to observe their coronavirus symptoms, report our district correspondents.
In this backdrop, 608 emigrants in Chandpur district and 169 Manikganj were kept at their homes to check coronavirus symptoms under the watch of health workers, law enforcers and local administration in the last five days.
Also 40 more people have been kept at home-quarantine in Narayanganj district, 43 in Kishoreganj, 12 in Munshiganj, 10 in Noakhali, and some other districts districts.
A total of 400 beds have been kept ready in Dhaka district and 100 beds in each district for treatment of coronavirus-affected patients across the country, Health Ministry sources said.
