The home ministry formed committee submitted its probe report over death of writer Mushtaq Ahemd in Gazipur prison on Wednesday.
The five-member committee head additional secretary Tarun Kanti Sikder confirmed The New Nation at night.
He, however, declined to share their findings saying that the home minister Asaduzzaman Khan might disclose those.
The official also said that they had visited the jail and talked to officials there to understand actual fact and determine whether there was any negligence from the authorities.
Earlier, write Mushtaq, arrested nearly 10 months ago under the digital security act, died in Gazipur’s Kashimpur High Security Jail on February 25.
Protests raged around Dhaka and other districts demanding immediate scrap of the DSA after the death of the writer.
The home ministry formed five-member committee on Saturday to whether the jail authorities had any negligence behind the death of Mushtaq.
