UNB, Dhaka :State minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said steps will taken through investigation against people involved in the attack on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade during her electioneering in the city’s Karwanbazar area on Monday.”I am yet to know the details about the attack…I will be informed whether such attack took place. Steps will be taken through investigation against people involved in the attack,” he said while talking to UNB over phone.The attack took place while Khaleda was electioneering in favour of her party-backed Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral candidate Tabith Awal.Private television channels captured and broadcast images of the attacks, during which at least one microbus of Khaleda’s motorcade had its glass shattered.It has also been reported that a member of the BNP chief’s security team sustained injuries during the attack.About the withdrawal of police from Khaleda’s residence, the state minister said that there is no policy that security be provided to former prime minister. But there is a tradition of providing security. A policy will be formulated in this regard, he said.
