Popular actress of the small screen Homayra Himu’s acting strength is better rather than her contemporary actress because she came from theatre play. Once she was regularly seen in theatre play. When she became popular in TV plays she could not give time to theatre play. Now she is busy with TV play. Sometimes she was also seen in big screen. In 2008, she was last seen in theatre play Khanchar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi directed by Jamaluddin Hossain.
Himu-starrer mentionable film was Morshedul Islam’s Aamar Bondhu Rashed, which was released in 2011. Himu played in an important role and her acting was appreciated by the viewers. Himu last acted in film actor Ferdous-starrer and produced movie Ek Cup Cha, which was released in 2014. Later she did not see in any other film.
According to her, she got many offers for acting in films but due to mismatch of timing she couldn’t work.
After six years break, Himu acted in a film titled Tore Koto Bhalobasi. Dewan Nazmul has the film. Popular actor of the small screen Sabbir Ahmed acted against Himu in this film. Himu said, “I have liked story and my role in film Tore Koto Bhalobasi. There is twist in my role in the film which will impress the viewers. Dewan Nazmul Bhai is a talented director. I have enjoyed working under his direction. He works in organised way. He gives freedom to actors during shooting time.” Meanwhile, Himu is also acting in new serials now like on Nagorik TV, Matia Banu Shuku’s Gollachhut and Adalot, and on Boishakhi TV, Dodul-directed Swapno Adda, on ETV Harun-directed serial Istikutum. Six years ago, she produced a play titled Bhalobasi Othoba Basi Bhalo.
