The hockey training camp for the Asian Games Qualifying Hockey tournament will begin on Friday (January 12) at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city.
Ahead of the tournament, the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) on Monday picked up 38 hockey players, who have been asked to report to national hockey team coordinator Mahbubul Ahasan Rana on the date of starting the camp at 4 pm.
The Asian Games Qualifying Hockey tournament is scheduled to be held on March 11-17 in Oman.
The selected players are Asim Gope, Abu Sayed Nippon, Biplob Kuzur and Sojibur Rahman (custodian), Mamunur Rahman Chayan, Imran Hasan Pintu, Khorshadur Rahman, Rokonuzzaman Sohag, Farhad Ahmed Shitul, Rezaul Karim Babu, M Ashraful Islam, Sohanur Rahman Sobuj, Shafiul Alam Shishir, Mehedi Hasan, Monoj Babu and Khaled Mahmud Rakin (defender), Kamruzzaman Rana, Hasan Jubayer Niloy, Sorowar Hossain, Sabbir Rana, Romman Sarkar, Nayeem Uddin, Fazle Hossain Rabbi, Mahbub Hossain, Ashik Mahmud, Nazmul Islam, Azizul Islam and Shafiqul Islam (mid fielder), Russell Mahmud Jimmy, Pushkar Khisa Mimo, Milon Hossain, Arshad Hossain, Dwin Islam Emon, M Mohsin, Rajib Das, Posenjit Roy and Al Nahiyan Shuvo (striker).
