Hajj Jatri Kalyan Parishad demands atleast one Hajj flights from Chattogram International airport in the current hajj season.
In this connection, a memorandum addressed to Managing Director , Bangladesh Biman handed over to Biman’sDistrict Manager at latters office on Tuesday The memorandum was told that out of the total hajj pilgrims across the country, the hajj aspirants from this Chattogram division are about 25percent . The justifications of the hajj flights from Chattogram explained in the memo that there is a permanent hajj camp in the port city
from pre-independence period which is still existing with additional two more buildings and Chattogram have international airport .
The pilgrims from this division had to face severe miseries to reach Dhaka by road or train lack of easily available train tickets and miserable traffic congestions on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway .District Manager Babu Sajal Kumar Nath told the HJKP leaders that the travelling agencies of the port city did not place ticket requirements earlier to Biman and if they place their ticket demands we can arrange accordingly.
He also assures the parishad leaders to extent all possible helps for Hajis of this division subject to cooperations of the travel and hajj agencies in beforehand. HJKP also demanded flight from Chattogram to Madina like previous year.
The leaders urged the District Manager to provide a lunch or dinner packet to each pilgrim soon after arrival at departure lounge at respective airports.
During handing over the memorandum, President of HJKP Ahmadul Islam Chowdhury, Vice President Prof. Kazi Shahdat Hossain, Secretary General Principal Dr.Abdul Karim, ffinance secretary Abu Mohammad Nurul Islam, Office Secretary Saleh Ahmed Suleman were present .
