Hitch in appointment of non-govt teachers, continuous sit in protest at Shahbagh

A large number of those seeking jobs as teachers in non-government educational institutions have been organizing a demonstration demanding a panel-based recruitment system.
They have given a memorandum to NTRCA, education ministry but they cannot obtain any positive feedback. Now, they also seek intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of it’s concern.
The teachers candidate across the country, who have passed from different circular of the Non-government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) tests, but are still unemployed, have been carrying out the protest in front of public library near Shahbagh for the last 62 days stressing three point of demands.
The others two demand are NTRCA registration test will be suspended till the recruitment of validly certified job aspirants and those who are already working in MPO schools and colleges should not be included in the panel, if necessary, separate transfers should be arranged.
“We continue the protest for 62 days but Education Ministry and NTRCA remained unresponsive to the teachers’ demand. We contract with NTRCA chairman, but he can not want to talk us in this regard,” the protesters alleged.
“A part of the merit list in each circular deprived from job since the NTRCA prepared in 2005. Later, a combined merit list was published in 2015, but all the people did not get job yet,” they added.
“A total of around 30 to 40 thousand candidates in last 16 years did not get jobs yet. For which, wear forced to stage demonstration and it will be continue untill a effective measure will be taken,” the protesters said.
“We spent a miserable live here even Eid day. Many of us are in trouble as they continue their hunger strike by staying in Dhaka at their own expense even some without eating. In such a situation, we are seeking the intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” Sirajul Islam, Joint secretary of Panel-Prospective Registered Teachers Association.
