An elderly woman, who fell unconscious after being hit by a neighbour at Baluchar on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday, died at Osmani Medical College Hospital (OMCH), Sylhet on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Lutfa Chowdhury, 57, wife of late Sanur Ali, a resident of Baluchar.
Witnesses said Lutfa had an altercation with the wife of late Chand Mia, her neighbour, over the drainage system of their house on Wednesday afternoon.
At one stage, Riaz, Siraj and Nipun, three sons of Chand Mia, also joined with their mother in the altercation.
Later Nipun hit Lutfa and dragged her along the drain, leaving her unconscious.
She was rushed to OMCH where she died on Thursday evening.
Swapan, sub-inspector of Shah Paran Police Station, said they are investigating the incident.
