The 45th death anniversary of 27 martyrs was observed at Kamanna in Sailkupa of Jhenaidah on Saturday.
Milad Mahfil, discussion meeting placing floral wreaths at the Sahid minar and distribution of foods were among the activities.
Bogura union parishad, Kamanna 27 Shahid Srity Sanghga and ruling Awami League Bogura union unit jointly organized the programme.
Presided over by the chairman of Bogura Union parishad Nazrul Islam, Commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Magura district unit command Mollah Nabuyat Ali attended the programme as chief guest. Biswas Lutfar Rahman, a retired joint secretary of the election commission, also the founder of the organization, Lutfar Rahman Tulu, Ekram Hossain among others participated in the discussion.
The speakers observed that a section of freedom fighters have been trying to demoralize the name of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Shaikh Muzubur Rahman as the announcer of the independence of the country. They also have been plotting the date of Kamanna massacre as November 27 as against 26.
The speakers warned them to doing so and refrain from the heinous activities to ensure producing the real history before the nation.
