Bangabandhu Parishad Ishwardi Upazila Branch has celebrated the historic 6-point day. On the occasion of the day, a wreath was laid at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu on Tuesday morning (June 6) and a discussion meeting was organized in the evening. Atiyar Rahman, convener of the upazila committee, presided over the discussion held at the auditorium of Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute. The chief guest was Municipal Mayor Isaac Ali Malitha.
Special guests were Abdul Qayyum, Bir Muktijoddha of ACC Prevention Committee, Akram Hossain, Vice President of Upazila Awami League, Ainul Islam, Principal, Atia Ferdous Kakli, Vice Chairman, Prof. Swapan Kumar Kundu, President of Press Club, Dr. Kuasha Mahmud, journalist and New Era executive director Mostaq Ahmed Kiran, former district council member Shafiul Alam Biswas, Krishka League leader Murad Malitha.
BSS from Rajshahi reports : Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and its front organisations Tuesday observed the Historic Six-Point Demand Day paying tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To mark the day, the Rajshahi city unit of the party placed wreaths on the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders
in front of the party office and paid glowing tributes.
City unit president of AL Muhammad Ali Kamal flanked by other front-ranking leaders and activists placed wreaths followed by a discussion meeting.
Prof Abul Kashem from the Department of History in Rajshahi University addressed the meeting as focal person with Muhammad Ali Kamal in the chair.
Professor Kashem termed the Six-Point Demand as the charter of Bangalee’s freedom saying Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had proclaimed the Six-Point
to prepare the whole nation and stimulate the thoughts of the people for achieving the independence of the country.
In fact, Bangabandhu had first realized that it was not possible to establish the rights of the Bangalee nation without being independent from the
Pakistani regime.
